Token Hawaiian at the Prom
I see Michelle Wie is the U.S. Solheim Cup's token Hawaiian this time around. Could be worse. The token grandmother is Julie Inkster, who has gular folds older than Wie.
I get the bit about it's "like the Ryder Cup," i.e., a U.S. versing Europe contest. But it's not exactly an open, izzit, and the rest of world's spectacular players (think Koreans, think Japanese, think South Africa and Oz) aren't there to hold toes to the fire. More of a Country Club prom than a meaningful golf outing.
