Honeybee vision is really, really sophisticated
It's really pleasant to learn that honeybees process the same kinds of visual cues as mammals do.
So much for that "How Bugs See Through Compound Eyes" snake oil (cf. Gary Larson's sly dig, left!) some kid invariably brought to his or her high school science fair back in the Sixties; although to be fair, I think it was Disneyland, or some Fifties scifi BEM movie theater promo, or something, that peddled such obviously crap pseudo-science to the masses.
Here is another darned good riposte to the old canard.
